The J48 is one of the best DI boxes on the market. It's great at recording with minimal distortion thanks to the built in switching power supply. It also has a transformer which means it's even better at recording your unaltered natural tone. It's also packed full of features, there's a through jack slot for recording amp & pedal plus unaltered signal at the same time.  You've got the usual ground lift switch as well as a range of other situational buttons which can help with phase, resonance, and distortion.
